Acro Pharmaceutical Services (“Acro”) has been selected by Genentech as part of a limited specialty pharmacy network for Esbriet® (pirfenidone) for patients throughout the United States. Acro is now accepting prescriptions for Esbriet®, which has been approved by the U.S Food and Drug Administration as a treatment for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a chronic lung disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue. Clinical trials have shown Esbriet® to slow down the decline of lung function in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Acro’s specialty pharmacy services, in addition to medication dispensing, offers patient support for the enrollment into Genentech’s Access Solutions program for Esbriet®. This patient support program provides assistance with benefits and coverage issues, reimbursement guidance and product distribution. The program can be found at www.Genentech-Access.com/Esbriet.
